About Lacoste

The real history of the `crocodile` starts in 1923 as a journalist nicknames Renè Lacoste the `alligator`, when hearing of a bet over an alligator skin suitcase. This nickname was steadily gaining popularity by the public, as it represented Renè`s tenacity who was known for never renouncing on the court. Inspired by his nickname, Lacoste asks his friend Robert George to design a crocodile. The now famous logo makes its first appearance embroidered on the blazar of Renè Lacoste. The legend was born.
